Whiskay is a small group of friends — most of us met in school or through work — who build software together outside our day jobs. What started as side projects to fix our own problems (automation scripts, dev tools, productivity apps) grew into something we wanted to share more widely, and occasionally into paid client work when someone refers us a project we're excited about.
We built the tools we wished we had
Whiskay started as side projects between friends — automations, dev tools, and small apps we built to fix things that annoyed us at our own jobs. A few years and a lot of weekly calls later, we're still the same small group, now also taking on client work when it's referred and genuinely interesting.

What We Offer
We build open-source applications, publish practical engineering notes, and draw comics about the lighter side of building software.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers about how Whiskay works, what we build, and how you can collaborate.
We do both, though client work is deliberately limited. Everyone on the team has a full-time job elsewhere, so we only take on projects that come through referrals and that we're genuinely excited about — that's what keeps the work good instead of just steady. If that sounds like a fit, reach out with a short brief and timeline.
Our stack varies by project but commonly includes React for frontends, .NET for backend services, and Figma for UI/UX. We prioritize maintainability and modern engineering practices.
There's no rate card. Pricing depends on scope and how much we're already juggling around our day jobs - tell us what you're building and we'll give you a real number after talking it through, not a generic quote form.
Yes — we publish devlogs, tutorials, and 'learning in public' posts on topics like DSA, system design, .NET, React, and game dev. The blog is updated regularly.
We're open to collaborations and talented folks who enjoy cross-disciplinary work. Send us a one-page portfolio and a short note about what you'd like to build.
Follow us on social links in the footer or subscribe to our newsletter for devlogs, release notes, and behind-the-scenes peeks.
We're looking for a video editor to create demo videos for our applications.
