About Whiskay
The people behind Whiskay, and why we built it this way.
Whiskay isn't a studio in the traditional sense — it's a group of friends, most of whom met in school or through past jobs, building software together in whatever time we have outside our full-time roles. We started by solving problems we actually had (automations, dev tools, productivity apps) and kept going because it was more fun done together than alone.
We do not chase trends or shortcuts. We focus on building software that teams can confidently scale, evolve, and own.
The People Behind Whiskay
These days we're fully remote, spread across Chandigarh, Pune, and Bangalore, with everyone working full-time somewhere else.

Why Whiskay Exists
We started Whiskay because building is how we actually learn — tutorials only get you so far, and experience is the best teacher. A half-built hello-world project that never sees a real user doesn't teach you much either, so instead of five people building five toy projects on the side, we combine forces and ship things real users actually use.
It's easy to lose momentum on a solo side project; a lot easier to keep going when you've got people you actually like building alongside you. Everything we learn along the way is what we bring to the client work we take on.
How We Work
Our process is intentionally simple and engineering-driven.
- We start by deeply understanding the problem before writing code.
- We design systems with clear trade-offs and future growth in mind.
- We write clean, readable, and maintainable code.
- We communicate openly and document decisions.
We approach every project with a sense of ownership, treating the product as if we will be responsible for it long after launch.
What We Build
Our work spans a range of product engineering challenges, including:
- SaaS products and startup MVPs
- Scalable web applications
- Internal tools and developer-focused products
You can explore our product engineering services, browse our applications, or read our engineering notes.
Learning in Public
We actively document engineering decisions, challenges, and lessons in public. This learn-in-public approach sharpens our thinking and gives clients visibility into how we build.
You can find that work in our blog hub, which connects to practical articles written from real projects and product work.
Work With Us
If you're looking for a small team that cares about quality, clarity, and ownership — whether that's a side project turned real or a piece of client work — we'd love to talk.
